How Wood is Bent

How is wood bent? Very carefully. Basically you soak it in boiling water till it gets a bit soft, then you gradually put it through molds to achieve the shape you would like. Let it sit for a week to dry. 

That's how one piece of wood can serve as both arms on a chair.
