Wood Styles by Popularity

HFD five stains

Tamarack - The most popular finish is the sanded and beautifully stained Tamarack style. "Tamarack" comes from a Native American word meaning "wood used for snow shoes", which suitably describes these functional and fashionable pieces.

Black Forest - Sanded finish with dark stain to keep your decor deep in the virgin forest.

Natural Bark - The quintessential definition of rustic furniture. The roughest edges removed and the wood cleaned, but other than that it is left in its natural appearance.

Sonoma - Ultra-sanded for a clean, light look.

Dakota - Lightly sanded and richly stained to match the decor of many lodges.

Levels of Sanding on Wood

Tamarack is a medium sanding and stained to highlight the wood grain. Most popular style!

Black Forest has a medium sanding and a dark stain.

Dakota has been lightly sanded, removing just enough bark for stain to adhere.
